• How To Remain Positive in the Face of Negativity

At some point in the various journeys we embark on in our lives, no matter who you are or what you do, you are always going to run into some people that will discourage you, and hurt you. Let’s say that some people they are always going to have something to say (negatively) about your success, your personal life (when frankly it isnt any of their business), and keep on digging until they find something to attack you. Especially when you try to do something you are passionate about, there will always negative people that tries to sink you down. It brings them joy when they see you fail, or they just want to put you in a bad mood due to the fact that they are not happy with their life.

People will always try to bring you down, but hey look at the bright side… it only means you are above them.

Negative people are an unfortunate fact of life. The jealous person will try to bring you down because he is jealous of your success or talent and simply does not want you to succeed. These people are often called Haters. Here is the bad news: we’re not going to change them. But we can learn to react to them in ways that protect our self-esteem as well as our sanity.  There are things you can do to remain positive in the face of negativity:

    • Don’t argue => That just draws you into the cycle of negativity. Arguing only adds fuel to the fire. A negative person will feed off any negativity that will strengthen his mood or attitude.
    • Focus on the outcome => When you get stuck in the moment and someone is criticizing you for not doing something right, think of the long-term goal of why you’re doing what you’re trying to do. So often people waste their time criticizing you just because they have excess time on their hands.
    • Don’t Quit =>  It’s too easy to just get sick of the situation and decide to stop doing what you love because someone tries to bring you down. If you quit, you are only letting the other person get the best of you (it will give the greatest pleasure for them)  and you won’t be living up to your fullest potential!
    • Have some guts & don’t worry about conforming to the crowd => It takes a fearless attitude to make things happen for yourself - because life can be scary. Don’t be afraid of being the only one, your courage in standing up for what you are passionate about will subconsciously allow others to do the same.

Always remember that negative attitude is contagious, but a positive attitude is infectious as well…

Hang out with positive people that encourage you to be your best self. Use positive affirmations to overcome negative self-talk. Express your gratitude for all the positive things in your life.
