    Reading is beneficial for both children and adults. It can help you to cope with stress anxiety, and provide a form of relaxation. Nowadays people prefer to watch movies, television or playing computer games, they don’t realize that reading is not only enriching but also useful insights for health. It’s also helping people of all ages to learn and develop important life skills, in terms of education, self-improvement, positive life choices and all round well-being.

    Here are the reasons why reading is good for you:

    • Brain work-out; Just like muscles, the brain will get benefits from a good routine workout, in order to always perform its functions perfectly. Reading is more neurobiological demanding than processing images or speech. While reading, the brain is required fatherly think more so it can make people more intelligent.
    • Reducing stress; Reading is the great escape and it also works well as a way to relax. When you curl up with a good book, you put the rest of the world and all its troubles out of your mind as you are taken to distant places to learn about different time periods, and to expose yourself to new ideas and philosophies. You are essentially taking a vacation of the mind. It is an entertaining hobby for some of us.
    • Alzheimer’s prevention; Keeping the brain active through exercises like reading regularly is vital to preventing memory loss and reduced brain function. There is no question that reading can maintain a healthy brain as you age, and prevent brain disorders including Alzheimer’s disease.
    • Sleep better; Light reading before bed is a good way to prepare your self for sleep. Reading a little may calm your mind down so that you fall easily asleep.
    • Increasing your Concentration and focus skills; Those two are important factors contributing to intelligence and success in life. People love to read will have a brain that is more concentration and focus.
    • Reading is a great activity that you and your child can enjoy together. You could read to your child, or they could read to you while you enjoy the stories together. This is a fantastic way to spend quality time with your child, and can be a very bonding experience. Many people recall fond childhood memories of a parent reading to them at bedtime. Why not do the same for your child? This will encourage your child to analyze what they have read and learned about.

    So, still spending hours in front of  TV or games? don’t waste your time with it. Reading is a good habit that will not only refresh the mind but also provide benefits for health and life.
